MY OFFERING
"For I desired mercy and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings." Hos.6:6
ABOUT MY MUSIC
While my songs are intended to teach truth, it also serves the pupose of allowing us to bask in God's love and grace to us. I hope as you listen to my music you will dream a little. Allow the music to take you away to God's presence. Music gives us this unique privilege. Listening to a sermon or reading a book is wonderful, but music allows us to take in God's truth in a way that is not possible any other way. So sit back and enjoy the experience!

"HE IS LIGHT"
This song is one of the first songs I wrote. It's based on I John 1:5 : "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. "
The other verse is II Tim.1:10 : "But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel"
Wherever the gospel has gone, it brings light, life, and liberty! Death is the penalty of our sin, but Christ has conquered death to give us life eternal with him.

"My Offering"
This song is named after the title of the CD "My Offering". I wrote the song specifically with this theme in mind. The Old Testament contains many symbols and shadows of Christ. Religion for the most part is caught up with these shadows rather than the reality. Our lives should be about exhibiting the reality of Christ not focused on the external trappings of organized religion. One of the ways I personally can do this is through music. The songs I write are an expression of my heart. I hope my music touches your heart as well.

"TRUE LOVE"
Love is a word we use so often about so many things. While there are many legitimate kinds of love, the love that emenates from God is the most pure. I believe that truely, love is the supreme motive and principle by which God acts. The song is based on I Cor. 13.

"KEEP THY HEART"
This song is written very simply; no drums, no electric guitar, no piano, no vocal harmony; just acoustic guitar and a single voice. In our day, we have so many things that we see and hear and don't always realize how these things can affect us. Many people are very concerned about what they eat, about what goes into their body. How many of us are as concerned about what goes into our mind? I think we should heed the words of Solomon. The song is based on Proverbs 4:12.

"I COME TO YOU"
This one seems to be many people's favorite. It's one of mine too. It's not really based on any specific scripture. It's an expression of my heart crying out to God in times of difficulty. I have come to realize that we can't always understand why we go through things. We have to give up our perceived need to know the why of everything. I've learned that it's even ok to be angry at God. We have to come to a place where we simply lay it at the feet of the Lord.

"O COVERING CHERUB"
Many people may not know what a covering Cherub is. The phrase is taken from Ezek.28:16. It's referring to Satan before his fall when he covered over the throne of God. Satan was referred to as Lucifer before he fell. Through pride Lucifer sought to have a place above God. He allowed his wisdom and beauty to take precedence over his duty to serve God. Isa.14 was also used to write this song.

"I WILL NOT STAND WHERE THE WORLD STANDS"
As Christians, we should desire to live differently than the world. The culture will constantly be pushing their ideas and agenda on us. That will never change. We must encourage one another to live apart from the world. All we need to do to be conformed to this world is to do nothing. Just go to work, come home and watch t.v. We must encourage one another to live apart from the world. This concept of encouraging one another is something I deal more with on my other CD "The Prince and the Dragon".

"LUCIFER'S BOAST"
This song is taken from Isa.14. Like the song "O Covering Cherub", it also deals with Lucifer and his desire to ascend above God's authority. There are five "I will's" in Isa.14 detailing Lucifer's plan to sit in God's throne.

"THY WILL BE DONE"
There's a reason why I placed this song after "Lucifer's Boast." This song shows a contrast. While Lucifer sought his own glory, Christ sought the glory of the Father. Lucifer said "I will". Christ said "Thy will be done". He humbled himself and became obedient.

"HE IS WORTHY"
This is another simple song with only a single voice and acoustic guitar. It's about singing God's Praises forever in His presence.

"EPILOGUE"
This is an instrumental song. It doesn't have any particular meaning so I'll let the lisener attach their own meaning to it.
